Sorry for being so MIA for the past few weeks. This summer has been busy, busy, busy. Just in the past 2 weeks Jason and I attended 3 weddings, photographing one of them. They were all over the map, Banff, Leduc, and Waskatenau. Also, this August marks Jason's and my 5th year anniversary. So last minute, in the midst of all these weddings, my amazing in-laws decided to take our 3 adorable children for 7 days so that Jason and I could go on a mini road trip. Our trip started from Waskatenau, we continued to Jasper's Columbia Ice Fields, Lake Louise/Moraine Lake, Invermere, Lussier Hot Springs/ Whiteswan Lake, Kimberly and Sylvan Lake. It was so great to have my husband all to myself. Life can be crazy with our 3 munchkins, so the opportunity to reconnect was amazing. It surfaced all the amazing qualities I first fell in love with that have been put on the back burner since having children, for good reason. But as parents, we have a tendency to forget who we were before children and get caught up in only being mommy and daddy. We forget that we are still Jason and Sheena. Jason isn't only the most incredible daddy, he is also intellectual, spontaneous, inspiring, loving, and truly the goofiest man around. He's my soul mate my partner and I'm so lucky to be able to spend the rest of my life with him. How did I get so lucky? Jason, I love you to the moon and back. Attending the past 3 weddings, I realized that our wedding day was probably the least I loved you in the past 5 years, every year that goes by my heart fills with a love I didn't know was possible. Thank you for choosing me.
My first post: Who am I?
Hey everyone! I am super nervous, but, so excited about starting this blog. I am not a writer, actually far from it, so bare with me. I'd like to share a little bit about why I started this blog. Honestly, nothing makes me happier than bringing joy and happiness to others. As long as I can remember, I've had an obsession with food and fashion. In ways, I feel that they go hand in hand. The feeling of getting a good meal in my belly, or getting all dolled up brings the same sense of happiness to me. They both make you feel so good! Some of my favourite childhood memories are of myself whipping up yummy dishes for family and friends, and playing dress up in my room. I found that a good meal, always brought happiness and joy to my life. The same way that putting on a cute outfit does. I've always been told my style was somewhat eccentric, it is a reflection of how I define me. If I had to, I would describe my style as having a touch of grandmas couch, mixed with a little asian flare, with a bohemian, hippy vibe. I really don't know what to call it. I just put on what makes me feel pretty, lol.
So that's what has brought me here. I hope through sharing my love for food and fashion I'll be able to inspire you to live your happiest life. Realizing how food has such a huge role to someone's, all-round, health and spiritual happiness, I refuse to take this one life we have for granted. It's a true gift to be alive. I have made the decision to live my BEST life, and dedicate myself to living it authentically aware. I believe that most of life's issues can be avoided, by simply making minute changes, on a daily basis. Love yourself and this planet! This can be the difference between, prevention or intervention in all aspects of life. Health, relationships, environmental issues, even simple things such as weight loss. We live in a world where we have infinite choices and each decision we make affects that world and it's future. My hope is to, forever, live authentically eccentric, and encourage you to do the same. My passion is to help others find their happiness and to share all the knowledge I have accumulated, in hope of tiny changes. It gives my life purpose. I believe that education, knowledge, and happiness are the most powerful things anyone has to offer someone else.
